The Travel Poster shows the yesteryear bright colors of the buildings of the Baden-Wurttemberg region in contrast to the constructions and interiors of today in austere monochrome hues. The color palette hovers between pale pink, yellow, orange, and green.
A nostalgic feeling
Coming from France, I remember as kid the first family trips to the east part of Europe and discovering these colors in the streets of Vienna, exploring the baroque shapes of the grand hotels in the spa towns of the Czech bohemian region. These rich architectural ensembles became mounted pieces of cream cakes in my memories of travels. I found them later through the films aesthetic of Wes Anderson through their initiatory family stories and the care given to colors, architectural and design details.
In this same aesthetic vein, the “old-fashioned” decors of the Finnish director Aki Kaurismäki guide me in search of the ambient silence and solitude of his films’ protagonists.
